Webtrends Optimize helps Lark London to get online with a Shopify store
Lark London is an independent retailer based in South-West London, run by husband-and-wife duo Dominic and Priya. They provide beautiful, cool and often quirky gifts, and products for your lifestyle and home.
They have been operating since 2004, and in the last 18 months have had exponential growth – now covering 6 stores in Balham, Earlsfield, Tooting, Streatham, Herne Hill and Wimbledon.
12 months ago, Lark London had no online presence whatsoever. Their immense success came from knowing what the local shoppers wanted, and from providing great service instore. As part of their rapid expansion, they took the challenge to establish a solid presence online – both over Instagram and a retail website, and have been charging forward at that ever since.
The first challenge came with establishing a retail website – something both Priya and Dominic had very limited experience with. Whilst taking a Shopify store and purchasing a theme did some of the heavy lifting, it’s hard to get a website looking right as soon as you start filling it with your own content. And with a bad user experience hurting brand reputation, they were in need of some quick support.

The team at Webtrends Optimize stepped in to lend support. Despite typically building AB Tests and Personalised content for large enterprises as opposed to a Shopify store, they quickly made sense of the new environment, learning how to build and maintain themes, and dove into the updates required.
Within just 48 hours, the website was looking in considerably better shape, with changes built, tested and deployed to their Shopify store. The website was ready for their potential customers, and the Lark team were suddenly unblocked. Their digital strategy kicked into gear, with a daily push on Shoppable Instagram posts fuelled by their new Shopify store as the purchase gateway. These changes saw their website generate revenue and contribute to their incredible growth.

Most importantly, their digital strategy has helped to keep up awareness of their great brand and products, at a time where attention is difficult to acquire.
We see future opportunities in refining the website – helping to address the blockers to traffic acquisition and to purchase through UX reviews and Site Audits.
